"I can't fire a gun."

Eddie stood up and glared at the chubby man.

"Did you actually SEE her die?"

"Well, I-"

"Did you SEE her dead body?

Will paused. Maybe she didn't die. But how could she be alive after what went on in that alley?

"No."

"No, you didn't." Eddie snarled. "You just ran away. I should leave you right here."

Will was silent. He chewed at his lip and his eyes found his feet once again. Eddie got closer to him, his skinny frame somehow dwarfing the man -- his FURY dwarfing the man.

"You don't deserve to live if you won't even fight for your own life." Eddie continued. "Coward."

Anger was turning to whispers of violence in Eddie's head and he ended the conversation with as much abruptness as he had begun it. Ben came back into view and Eddie joined him.

Will, never looking up said, "I know."

Eddie's premonition of a few hours ago proved not to be true. Here he was standing once again in front of his old house. He walked up to the porch with Ben and Will and they sat down on a yellow-painted shaker bench.
